Under My Skin (1950)

After double-crossing a ruthless gangster who paid him to throw a horse race, crooked jockey Dan Butler (John Garfield) flees to Paris to escape retribution.  Trying to go straight for the sake of his worshipful young son and the smoky-voiced Parisian nightclub singer he falls for, Butler finds past deeds hard to escape in this brooding drama based on a Hemingway short story.
