Gosford Park (2001)

"...a virtuoso ensemble piece to rival the director's 'Nashville' and 'Short Cuts' in its masterly interweaving of multiple characters and subplots.” –
New York Times

Directed by Robert Altman.

Relatives of a wealthy English nobleman meet at his country home, mostly eager to shore up their economic positions. Downstairs, a community of house servants attends to the wealthy family and their guests, observing a system of rules as intricate as the staircases that link the two worlds. A piercing scream signals a shocking mystery, and reveals secrets that link both groups in the great house.
