The biography of “The Five Donaghues,” a fictional Irish-American family of American performers becomes the hook for one of Hollywood’s biggest color musicals of the 1950s, in Cinemascope no less. Following their career from the vaudeville era at the turn of the last century to World War II, the film is chock-full of big musical numbers with songs by Irving Berlin.
