Robert Wheaton is a writer-director and a graduate of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. He produced the short films A Little Off Mark (1986) and At the Bus Stop (1991). His more recent work includes The Making of Green Dragon (2002), a documentary about the 2001 feature dramatizing the plight of Vietnamese refugees arriving in the United States after the war ended in 1975. Wheaton has also been involved in the production of a number of feature films, such as House Party (1990), Panther (1995) and Waiting to Exhale (1995).
Wheaton has worked for Forest Whitaker’s production company, Spirit Dance Entertainment. In the 1990s, he also served as director of marketing for the Watts Theater Project. Wheaton has written entertainment articles for a variety of publications including Essence, RKA Magazine and the Carib Press.
