Title:

"Lack of rehabilitation programs for formerly incarcerated women"

Date:
September 24, 1974

Synopsis

Two formerly incarcerated women talk to a reporter about the lack of meaningful rehabilitation programs to adequately prepare them for life after release from prison. An unidentified official is interviewed about the lack of work referral programs for women due to lack of facility space and acknowledges that such rehabilitation programs are available to men. Another unidentified interviewee, possibly an advocate for the incarcerated, states that California doesn't have any true rehabilitation programs. Includes shots of a prison facility, prison cell, and incarcerated women sitting at a table watching television
