California State Senator James R. Mills and a group of people are making a trip from San Jose to San Diego to publicize Proposition 5, which would allow gas tax funds to be used for mass transit projects. The group took the train from San Jose to Santa Barbara, and from Santa Barbara continued on bikes to reach San Diego, stopping at Los Angeles City Hall to greet Mayor Tom Bradley. Dick Garten interviews Mills about their accommodations during the trip, and how he is managing his duties as acting governor since Mills became acting governor after embarking on the trip. Bradley and Mills shake hands and talk about the necessity of public transportation. Clip includes shots of the group of bicyclists on a busy city street, and Mills and Bradley riding bikes in front of City Hall.
