"Police officers demonstrate alternatives to lethal force"

Mayor Tom Bradley talks to reporters about the situations police officers face involving suspects that are violent or impervious to pain due to drugs, something not common during his time with the LAPD. Officers demonstrate for the mayor, and several others, different devices they can use to take down a suspect without resorting to lethal force, including leg grabbers, chains and a taser. Bradley states his opinion that the devices demonstrated are an excellent alternative to the gun, and he’s very pleased the department is testing and making use of them.
