Los Angeles City Councilman Edmund D. Edelman, Mayor Tom Bradley and the city of Riverside have joined efforts in opening a petition to the Supreme Court. They are asking for a ruling on whether or not gas tax funds can be used for more than just building freeways and repairing streets. Bradley believes the funds could be used for rapid transit, and there is an urgent need for rapid transit in the area. Edelman states they are strictly after a constitutional interpretation, and that he believes having Mayor Bradley's name on the petition will add to their chances of winning. Includes shots with ambient sound of Bradley and Edelman coming up a set of stairs, as well as shots of reporters and cameramen.
