Howard Edgerton, chairman of Mayor Bradley’s ad-hoc Committee on Housing speaks about issues covered in the committee’s report, including building smaller units, building more densely to reduce high land costs, and looking at options regarding zoning regulations. Mayor Tom Bradley emphasizes that they must go smaller in order to build more housing for moderate income families. He also notes that the city has cut permit processing time down to from 18 months to 9 months to help encourage construction projects.
