Date:
c. 1943

Synopsis

Original air date unknown.

Cast: Gertrude Berg (Molly Goldberg); James R. Waters (Jake Goldberg); Roslyn Silber (Rosalie Goldberg); Alfred Ryder (Sammy Goldberg); Menasha Skulnik (Uncle David).

Announcer introduction: "The capacity of Molly's heart is matched only by the blindness of her love for Sammy's wife. To Molly, a daughter-in-law is a gift from heaven, especially when she's lovely, charming and smart... And Grace is being very clever. Why Sammy married her we don't know, because Sammy is still at sea on his way to some distant battleground... and all Molly knows about the marriage is what Grace has told her. What Grace didn't tell -- and what Grace won't tell her is what we know, that Grace is here in Lastenbury on some plan of her own... It's apparent to us that Grace and George, a new farmhand who seems to know Grace very well are up to something... and the Goldbergs financial condition is involved somehow. Grace and George told the Goldbergs they have never met each other... although they're both from the same town... But George has made a couple of slips and Rosie is beginning to get suspicious. Right now, though, Rosie has another problem on her mind... she's planning on what college she'll go to next year... Listen..."

Announcer close: "Never... and no one knows that better than George and Grace... and the Goldbergs are going to find out just how much their daughter-in-law thinks of equities... and chicken feed..."
